Away In A Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky,
And stay by my side until morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay,
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And take us to heaven to live with Thee there.
SILENT NIGHT

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born
Silent night, holy night!
Son of God love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
O Come All Ye Faithful

O come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem,
Come and behold Him, born the King of angels;
O come let us adore Him,
O come let us adore Him,
O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
Sing, choirs of angels, sing in exultation,
Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above,
Glory to God in the highest;

O come let us adore Him,
O come let us adore Him,
O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
Once In Royal David City

Once in Royal David’s city, stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her baby in a manger for His bed.
Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ, her little child.
He came down to earth from heaven, who is God and Lord of all,
And His shelter was a stable, and His cradle was a stall:
With the poor and meek and lowly, lived on earth our Saviour holy.
And through all his wondrous childhood, day by day like us He grew;
He was little, weak and helpless; tears and smiles like us He knew:
And He feeleth for our sadness, and He shareth in our gladness.
And our eyes at last shall see Him through His own redeeming love;
For that child, so dear and gentle, is our Lord in heaven above;
And He leads His children on to the place where He is gone.
Not in that poor lowly stable, with the oxen standing by,
We shall see Him, but in heaven, set at God’s right hand on high;
When like stars His children crowned, all in white shall wait around.
While Shepards Watched

While shepherds watched their flocks by night,
all seated on the ground,
an angel of the Lord came down,
and glory shone around.

"Fear not,” said he for mighty dread
had seized their troubled mind;
“glad tidings of great joy I bring
to you and all mankind.

"To you, in David’s town, this day
is born of David’s line
a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord;
and this shall be the sign:

"The heavenly babe you there shall find
to human view displayed,
all meanly wrapped in swaddling bands
and in a manger laid.”
Thus spoke the seraph, and forthwith
appeared a shining throng
of angels praising God, who thus
addressed their joyful song:

All glory be to God on high,
and to the earth be peace;
Goodwill henceforth from heaven to men
Begin and never cease.”

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN

(Chorus) You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list,
He's checking it twice,
He's gonna find out who's naughty or nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
And he knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Chorus
Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowin' and blowin' up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air

What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh

Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jinglin' feet
That's the jingle bell rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air

Holly Jolly Christmas
Have a holly jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year
Now I don't know if there'll be snow
But have a cup of cheer

Have a holly jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet

Ho ho the mistletoe
Is hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me

Have a holly jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year

Ho ho the mistletoe
Is hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me

Have a holly jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year
HARK THE HERALD ANGELS SING
Hark the herald angels sing, ‘Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled.’
Joyful, all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies,
With angelic host proclaim: ‘Christ is born in Bethlehem’.
Hark! The herald angels sing, ‘Glory to the newborn King!’
Christ by highest heaven adored, Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come, offspring of the virgin’s womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see, hail the incarnate Deity,
Pleased as man with man to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel.
Hark! The herald angels sing, ‘Glory to the newborn King!’
Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by, born that man no more may die,
Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth.
Hark! The herald angels sing, ‘Glory to the newborn King!’
The Christmas Song

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping at your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know that Santa's on his way;
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother's child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although it’s been said many times, many ways,
Merry Christmas to you
THE FIRST NOWELL
The first Nowell the Angel did say,
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay,
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep,
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep,
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Born is the King of Israel

They look-ed up and saw a star,
Shining in the East beyond them far,
And to the earth it gave great light,
And so it continued both day and night.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Born is the King of Israel

And by the light of that same Star,
Three wisemen came from country far,
To seek for a King was their intent,
And to follow the star wherever it went.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Born is the King of Israel

This star drew nigh to the north-west,
O’er Bethlehem it took its rest,
And there it did both stop and stay,
Right over the place where Jesus lay.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Born is the King of Israel

Then entered in those Wise Men three,
Full reverently upon their knee,
And offered there, in His presence,
Their gold, and myrrh, and frankincense.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Born is the King of Israel

Then let us all with one accord,
Sing praises to our Heavenly Lord
That hath made Heav’n and earth of nought,
And with His blood mankind hath bought.
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Born is the King of Israel
Good King Wenceslas
Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even.
Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight gathering winter fuel.
King: Hither, page, and stand by me,
If thou knowst it, telling
Yonder peasant, who is he?
Where and what his dwelling?
Page: Sire, he lives a good league hence,
Underneath the mountain
Right against the forest fence
By Saint Agnes fountain.
King: Bring me flesh and bring me wine
Bring me pine logs hither
Thou and I shall see him dine
When we bear them thither.
Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together
Through the rude winds wild lament and the bitter weather.
Page: Sire, the night is darker now
And the wind blows stronger
Fails my heart, I know not how
I can go no longer.
King: Mark my footsteps good, my page,
Tread thou in them boldly
Thou shalt find the winter’s rage
Freeze thy blood less coldly.
In his masters step he trod where the snow lay dinted,
Heat was in the very sod which the Saint had printed.
Therefore, Christian men, be sure, wealth or rank possessing
Ye, who now will bless the poor shall yourselves find blessing.
RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
You'll go down in history"
AUSSIE JINGLE BELLS
Dashing through the bush, in a rusty Holden Ute
Kicking up the dust, esky in the boot
Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs
It’s summertime and I am in
My singlet, shorts & thongs
(Chorus) Oh, Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Christmas in Australia
On a scorching summers day - Hey!
Jingle bells, Jingle bells
Christmas time is beaut
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden ute.
Engine’s getting hot. Dodge the kangaroos
Swaggy climbs aboard - he is welcome too
All the family is there, sitting by the pool
Christmas day, the Aussie way
By the barbecue!
Chorus
Come the afternoon, Grandpa has a doze
The kids and uncle Bruce are swimming in their clothes
The time comes round to go, we take a family snap
Then pack the car and all shoot through
Before the washing up
Chorus
